Students will define natural resources and will focus on ways in which they can care for their environment. A short video will be shown discussing the various ways that natural resources are used and over-used daily. Students will determine whether common classroom items come from renewable or nonrenewable resources. As a follow up activity, the class will compare two types of lunch bags. One is a reusable bag or lunch box with only reusable containers. The other is a disposable bag with single use packaging. Students will discuss why the “litterless lunch” is better for the environment and its natural resources.
