Students will watch a DVD which focuses on why we are losing billions of tons of soil each year to erosion and what we can do to prevent our soil from polluting our waterways. Students will then participate in a soil identification activity where students will compare the properties of various soils. Roanoke Valley’s soil is studied to determine how the different types of soil may affect our ecosystems.
