Students will listen to Dr. Seuss,’ The Lorax, to learn about potential effects humans have on the surrounding environment. Pollution of water resources is discussed as well as the importance of green space to help preserve water resources. Students will also recognize that they have control over how they use natural resources and will identify ways that they can reduce their impact on Earth’s natural resources. Students will sort “trash” and determine what “trash” can actually be reused or recycled. Teachers may choose to have a book or video presentation.
