Meet Steve Powers

Steve Powers earned his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Alabama and has dozens of professional publications and presentations on stream fishes and factors that influence them. In addition to professional research in streams, he is an avid whitewater kayaker and fly angler, providing a unique perspective on the physical and biological components of streams. He currently teaches classes like Aquatic Ecology and Vertebrate Biology at Roanoke College and has an active research program working with students investigating local fishes.
