Meet Leigh Anne Weitzenfeld

Leigh Anne Weitzenfeld is the Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Roanoke. As a natural resources professional, she is passionate about facilitating community wellbeing, resiliency, and sustainability within the community and working towards a net-zero carbon emissions future to mitigate against the harmful effects of climate change.

 

Leigh Anne worked for seven years as the Water Quality Administrator for the City of Roanoke Stormwater Division. In that position, Leigh Anne worked to restore the health of our local streams, educate on key environmental issues, and facilitate partnerships and collaborate with the community to achieve a “Clean Water Legacy” in the Roanoke Valley.

 

Leigh Anne earned a Master’s degree in Natural Resources from the Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability at Virginia Tech, a Master’s Certificate in Global Sustainability, and a botany degree from North Carolina State University.

 

In her free time she enjoys adventures, bikejoring with her dog, mountain biking, hiking, reading, collecting and growing plants, listening to music, and being outdoors.
